Hi, I’m Dr. Tanya Kelloway
Doctor of Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Located at Naturally Balanced Therapy in NW Calgary 🌿
I’m so glad you’re here.
I’ve been practicing acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) since 2010, and I still feel in awe of what this medicine can do. My work is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that your body holds incredible wisdom. I approach each treatment with the intention to help you feel more at home in your body—calmer, more connected, and supported in your healing.
I offer trauma-informed, whole-person care that blends the ancient tools of TCM with a modern understanding of the nervous system, hormones, and emotional wellness. Whether you’re coming in for physical symptoms, emotional overwhelm, or something that doesn’t fit neatly into a box, my goal is to really listen, connect the dots, and help you feel seen.
What to Expect When You Work With Me
I offer personalized treatments using a combination of:
acupuncture
Chinese herbal medicine
cupping and gua sha
diet and lifestyle support rooted in TCM
nervous system regulation tools to help you ground and thrive
Many people come to see me for hormonal concerns—like regulating the menstrual cycle, fertility support, and navigating perimenopause or menopause with more ease. This is a big part of my practice, and I love helping people better understand their bodies during these transitions.
I also work with people experiencing:
pelvic pain, bladder and bowel concerns
stress, anxiety, burnout, or trauma-related dysregulation
ADHD and nervous system overwhelm
chronic or unexplained pain
headaches, low back pain, or injury recovery
And sometimes, people come in even when there’s nothing “wrong.” They just know that acupuncture helps them feel more grounded, more themselves, and more at ease in their bodies. Wellness care and prevention are just as welcome here as symptom-focused treatment.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before booking — just come as you are.
An Inclusive and Affirming Space
I welcome and affirm all genders in my practice. 🌈
My clinic is a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for the 2SLGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, and for anyone seeking thoughtful, collaborative care. I’m also proud to be Skipping Stone-approved, offering gender-affirming care in an environment that honors individuality.
Why I Love This Work
After nearly 15 years, I still find this work meaningful and magical. It’s an honour to hold space for people—especially those who’ve felt dismissed, misunderstood, or like their symptoms don’t “make sense.” I love connecting with my patients, collaborating with other practitioners, and offering a space where healing is allowed to unfold gently and authentically.

As a former competitive dancer, I’m all too familiar with injuries and how effective massage therapy can be in the recovery process. My goal is to identify underlying patterns such as muscle imbalances, postural changes and movement dysfunctions that lead to pain-tension cycles, and subsequently create an individualized treatment plan to address clients’ concerns. Influenced by my years of training and passion for exercise, I believe that movement is often the right medicine for combating aches and pains. In my spare time you can find me in the mountains hiking, backpacking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, and camping and spending time with my partner and dog.
